Personal Photography Lessons
Are you the owner of a brand new DSLR…but have no idea what all those buttons and dials are for?
Have you been taking photos faithfully, but finding yourself frustrated because they’re just not turning out the way you had hoped?
Have you tried taking online or local classes, only to find yourself disappointed by your lack of progress in photography?
Whether you want to master your camera or pursue your personal photography goals with the help of an experienced photographer, there’s no better way to learn and progress than with one-on-one mentoring. Katrina Baker Photography is pleased to offer hands-on, individual photography lessons in the South Hills of Pittsburgh.
Katrina can offer detailed and personalized instruction in any or all of the following:
- Your camera’s features, buttons, and dials.
- Exposure modes, including moving beyond "Auto" and mastering manual mode.
- The exposure triangle (shutter speed, aperture, and ISO) and how to use the three components to create the perfect exposure for your photos.
- Metering modes, white balance, focus modes, and histograms.
- Composition, color, light, and key elements of pleasing photos.
- And more!
How does it work?
When you sign up for personal photography lessons, Katrina will meet with you for a complimentary consultation. Together, the two of you will discuss what you already know, what you’re hoping to learn, and the best approach to take moving forward. This consultation will ensure that your future lessons are personalized to your current level and goals.
Regular, interactive lessons will be offered on a weekly or biweekly basis. Lessons include one hour of personal instruction and discussion, a follow-up email including a pdf of key information discussed, and homework assignments to help you apply what you have learned.
There is no minimum number of lessons required.
What does it cost?
Lessons are one hour in length and the cost is $45/lesson. Many students find they only need 4-6 lessons to see tremendous improvement in their personal photography. Discounts are available for long-term arrangements if desired. Please inquire for more details.
